An enticing, suspenseful romance series. Over the last 2 books we have met Melissa who is escaping a fear filled marriage with her son to be "rescued" in more ways than one both physically and then emotionally by ex-Navy Seal, Chase. We continue to watch the tentative romance that grows not only between Chase and Melissa, but also a father/son relationship between Chase and Melissa's son, Jackson. The resolution is a little abrupt but is satisfying. I would love an epilogue novella to see where their lives have taken them. If you enjoy shorter novels that have both romance and suspense, these are for you. Cliffhangers between books but a HEA as a conclusion.
Melissa, Chase, and her son are still on the run. Hiding from the crazy husband she is separated from and who plotted to kill her. They have been able to live a normal life for a while, free from fear. I loved how caring Chase is of Melissa and her son and how supportive he is. They are growing into a family, but Melissa has worries. She finds out she is pregnant with Chase's baby, and then they get word that they might have to return to the USA, which will put her back in danger from her husband. If they don't return, they will be hunted as being kidnappers of her son. I kept waiting for the evil husband and his goons to find them again and kill them, but circumstances change. After being terrified for her life, Melissa finally gets her happy ever after. This story brings to light what a lot of women deal with. Having to run and hide from abusive, controlling spouses. Most don't have a personal bodyguard helping them, but their fear is the same.

Thoughts These were such quick reads but I suggest you get the whole trilogy before starting since there are cliffhangers! I couldn't put these down and read all three in the same sitting. It helped that they didn't have a lot of pages but the story just pulled me in and wouldn't let go! I didn't know what to expect next and that made it so much more exciting. Although the kid, Jackson, was a little too well behaved but it wasn't too unrealistic.
Melissa overhears her husband talking about "getting rid" of her so she grabs her son and goes into hiding. It would've been nice to maybe find out why her husband became the man he was but that's just my curiosity. And like many real life situations we never know the why or how so it didn't at all affect the story. This being my first time reading anything by Ms. Winters it will definitely not be my last! I loved the characters and the descriptive writing so I felt like I was actually there witnessing the whole thing.
Grab this as soon as you can and at the time of this posting, book 1 is free!!

These books, that should have been one, was just ok. I got bored at times. A lot of fluff and talk about fishing, eating, and thinking about things. I thought it would have been better had they taken some part of investigating the husband. All that was done off the pages of the book and they just got updated occasionally.

We didn't get to find out what the deal was with the husband. We are told that he was really into his mistress, yet he killed her and we have no idea why. We are never told how the husband was planning to kill the heroine. Just that he was planning on it.
We know next to nothing about any character's past.
So yea. It was just ok.
Great series
Omg I'm delighted with the storytelling and exciting story this author has written. Excellent in every way. Passionate love and steamy sexual indulgence in a twisted relationship between the characters in this story. ENJOY
This is the conclusion of Chase & Melissa's story. I love how their relationship developed. It was fast but the book is fast paced since it's novellas. I was, however, a little disappointed in the end result of the reason she was running to start with. There was this huge build up & then BAM it was over & she could return to life as it is now. I was waiting for more suspense & action & it kind of feel short. With that being said, I did love the epilogue(which for me can make or break a book). It ended great & I still enjoyed the series.
